The most famous Rhinoceros habitats not only in the eastern part of India, but also in the whole of Asia are the Kaziranga National Park and Manas Tiger Reserve.

Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary : The land of Indian Rhinoceros is counted among the two major wild pockets, the only surviving habitats of this prehistoric survivor in India. The vast open country makes Kaziranga very accessible and wildlife viewing fairly pleasurable. Here one can leave in the early hours of the dawn for an elephant-back-ride.

Manas Tiger Reserve : Assam is the state of the Great One Horned Rhinoceros. Beside the Kaziranga there's Manas another habitat of the Indian Rhinoceros, located in one of the remotest region among the foothills of Himalayas.

Nameri National Park : Nameri is the second Tiger Reserve of Assam, situated at the foothills of eastern Himalayas. The hilly backdrop, deciduous and the river Jia Bhoroli have added a unique natural charm to it.

Bura-Chapuri Wildlife Sanctuary : Bura-Chapori is a magnificent wildlife sanctuary situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra in Sonitpur district. It is also considered to be the ideal habitat for Bengal Florican. Orang Wildlife Sanctuary : Also known as Mini Kaziranga, Orang main wild attractions include the One-Horned black Rhinoceros, Elephants, Leopard, Sambar, Barking Deer, Tiger, variety of water birds, Green Pigeon, and Florican.

Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary : Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a reserve forest in 1971 mainly because of the few Rhinos that were found in this region prior to the year 1971. The sanctuary has a flat terrain with a gentle east to west inclination excluding Burha-Mayong hillock.

Dibru-Saikhowa National Park : Located on the alluvial flood plains of Brahmaputra in Upper Assam neighboring Arunachal is a biosphere reserve called Dibru Saikhowa National Park Its also an orchid paradise besides being a home to numerous wild animals and birds.

Milroy Or Pabha Sanctuary : This splendid wildlife reserve even if doesn't have many faunal varieties to offer, still it possesses the most coveted one, the Wild Water Buffalo. This sanctuary has been exclusively built for the protection of the wild water buffalo.

Sonai Rupai Wildlife Sanctaury : Covering a slightly larger area than the Pabha Sanctuary, the Sonai Rupai is quite a wonderful wildlife hub of Assam. And its insured among its wild treasure not only the exotic wildlife but also the scenic beauty that surround its boundaries.
